About the job
Mistral AI is seeking a talented and experienced Product Manager to define and execute the strategy for Forge, a product that empowers customers to build, fine-tune, and deploy custom AI models at scale. Forge transforms cutting-edge research into enterprise-ready capabilities by supporting model fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, and post-training workflows. This role operates at the intersection of research and product, enabling customers to train specialized models for real-world business value. You will collaborate closely with applied AI scientists and research engineers to translate frontier techniques into scalable and reliable solutions, shaping a 0-1 product with significant business impact and defining the future of how organizations train and deploy AI models.
Responsibilities
- Shape and evangelize a compelling product strategy for Forge, ensuring alignment with company goals and market opportunities.
- Lead market and UX research to identify unmet needs, competitive gaps, and emerging trends in AI post-training capabilities.
- Drive end-to-end product development from ideation to launch and iteration.
- Partner with design and research to create intuitive, high-impact user experiences, using data and feedback for continuous refinement.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales on go-to-market strategies, including pricing, positioning, and adoption.
- Align engineering, design, and business teams around priorities, trade-offs, and timelines.
- Maintain a dynamic roadmap that balances quick wins with long-term strategic goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building and scaling complex AI/ML or infrastructure solutions in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong understanding of training pipelines, RL loops, and model deployment architectures.
- Expertise in AI model lifecycle management, including fine-tuning, evaluation, and serving.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and scalable deployment modes.
- Proven ability to align and inspire cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Ability to balance big-picture thinking with hands-on problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear narratives.
- Adaptability to thrive in high-velocity, dynamic settings with shifting priorities.
- Low ego and high emotional intelligence, building trust and driving decisions through clarity.
- Self-directed with a bias for action, owning outcomes end-to-end.
