Podium is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in building VoIP solutions to join a team focused on empowering local businesses. This role involves creating a modern phone service for lead collection and conversion through AI agents. You will own features end-to-end, influencing architecture, collaborating with product and design, and ensuring the reliability of VoIP systems as the company scales. The ideal candidate is a product-minded engineer who is energized by taking projects from inception to completion and leverages AI tooling as a significant productivity enhancer.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end, from design to production.
- Influence platform architecture.
- Collaborate closely with product and design teams.
- Maintain the reliability of VoIP systems.
- Share knowledge, review code, and mentor team members.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building and shipping production systems.
- Proven track record of owning problems end-to-end, including definition and delivery.
- Experience identifying and resolving bottlenecks and performance issues in VoIP infrastructure.
- Experience with VoIP platforms such as FreeSwitch, Kamailio, OpenSIPS, or Asterisk.
- Daily hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to improve productivity.
