Mistral AI is seeking an IFRS Specialist to play a key role in the company's transition to IFRS. This position will involve applying technical expertise, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards, and collaborating with auditors and cross-functional teams. The specialist will analyze complex transactions, maintain accounting policies, and support the implementation of scalable financial processes for global entities. This is an opportunity for an IFRS expert to tackle technical challenges and gain exposure to high-impact projects in a fast-growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and document accounting treatments for complex transactions, ensuring alignment with IFRS and transition from French GAAP.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date IFRS policies (Accounting Manual) for global entities.
- Review and validate the accounting treatment of closed transactions quarterly, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare supporting documentation for auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and escalate IFRS-related risks or gaps in financial processes or transactions, providing actionable recommendations.
- Provide IFRS guidance to Sales, Legal, and Finance teams on high-stakes deals, contracts, or structural changes.
- Prepare and submit accounting adjustment requests to align financial records with IFRS.
- Compile and analyze IFRS-compliant reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing IFRS controls, automating manual processes, and embedding best practices.
Requirements
- Strong background in IFRS with experience in audit/advisory firms (Big 4, mid-tier) and in-house finance roles (tech, SaaS, or high-growth environments preferred).
- Comfortable interpreting complex accounting standards, drafting position papers, and ensuring compliance in fast-paced settings.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to turn intricate IFRS challenges into clear, scalable processes.
- Pragmatic and focused on continuous improvement, balancing rigor with adaptability.
- Clear communicator, able to simplify technical IFRS concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
- Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite) and financial tools.
- Expertise in French GAAP to IFRS transitions, complex transactions, and financial reporting.
- Proactive, takes ownership of projects, anticipates risks, and drives results with a low-ego, team-spirited mindset.
