Mistral AI is seeking an HR People Ops professional to oversee daily HR operations, manage employee inquiries, and ensure prompt, effective responses. This role involves coordinating employee benefits administration, leading HR projects with external vendors, and ensuring legal compliance with employment laws in France, UK, Germany, and Spain. The position also includes maintaining employee handbooks and managing immigration requests such as work permits and renewals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily HR operations and respond to employee inquiries.
- Coordinate employee benefits administration, including enrollment and changes.
- Lead HR projects with external vendors.
- Ensure legal compliance with employment laws in France, UK, Germany, and Spain.
- Maintain employee handbooks.
- Manage onboarding processes and contractual elements for employees.
- Update and maintain HR information and tasks.
- Manage immigration requests, including work permits and renewals.
- Prepare and process payroll for employees in EMEA.
- Provide necessary information to payroll providers and the Finance team.
- Lead process optimization initiatives for payroll and HR functions.
- Explore, implement, and refine people-related projects and best practices.
- Continuously improve, document, and streamline HR processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5-10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong knowledge of French law & HR policy and employment regulations.
- Cross-country HR experience managing geographically dispersed employee populations.
- Experience managing the full employee lifecycle.
- Thorough understanding of local, national, and international payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
- Proficiency in streamlining HR processes for efficiency, employee experience, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in HR technology solutions (HRIS, Payroll, etc.).
- Hands-on and builder mindset.
