Responsibilities
- Integrate AI capabilities across various customer touchpoints, including web, desktop, mobile, and embedded experiences (Google Docs, MS Word, Outlook, Slack), as well as APIs.
- Lead significant, high-priority engineering projects that involve multiple teams and define technical strategies for upcoming quarters.
- Identify and prioritize critical business problems, making key trade-off decisions efficiently.
- Develop AI platform features such as agent harnesses, custom agent creation, tool calling, retrieval, memory and context management, personalization, and evaluation systems.
- Ship and maintain core systems responsible for retrieval over large document datasets, scalable data ingestion, and secure data handling for sensitive information.
- Develop across the full stack, including React and TypeScript for user interfaces and Python and Postgres for backend services, APIs, and complex workflows.
- Mentor other engineers and elevate the overall engineering standards within the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of post-graduate experience in product-focused software engineering, with a significant portion at Staff level or above.
- Deep expertise in full-stack, backend, or agents/AI, with sufficient breadth to contribute across domains.
- Proven experience building scalable and extensible systems that support multiple product lines.
- Demonstrated success in shipping highly intuitive products within fast-growing SaaS environments, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in React, TypeScript, CSS (TailwindCSS), and Python.
- For agents/AI roles, strong Python skills and hands-on experience building and shipping agentic systems (agent harnesses, tool use, memory, evals), beyond basic LLM API calls.
- Experience leveraging AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) and understanding their impact on development workflows.
- A track record of influencing and aligning engineers and leaders outside of direct reporting lines.
- Strong general Computer Science fundamentals and programming skills.
- Experience in early-stage startups is advantageous.
