About the job

Harvey is seeking a Senior Motion Designer to shape the visual presence of motion across its brand, product storytelling, launch moments, web experiences, customer education, and executive-facing creative work. This new senior individual contributor role, reporting to the Head of Motion within Brand and Design, aims to elevate motion craft while maintaining a hands-on, generalist approach. The ideal candidate will build upon existing motion and brand standards, demonstrating a strong portfolio, clear process, and effective cross-functional collaboration. This role is crucial for translating complex AI product concepts into clear, memorable, and scalable motion systems for various applications, including product launches, web surfaces, campaigns, and internal/external storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Support the motion design language for Harvey’s brand across various creative surfaces like launch videos, product explainers, web and campaign moments, event assets, social cuts, and sales enablement.
  • Create motion concepts, storyboards, style-frames, animatics, and final motion assets that clearly communicate complex AI workflows.
  • Partner with Brand, Product Marketing, Product Design, Creative Operations, and GTM stakeholders to translate positioning and user needs into effective motion narratives.
  • Develop reusable motion systems, templates, animation principles, and production workflows to enable scalable motion output.
  • Utilize judgment to appropriately scope work, balancing polished hero moments with quick-turnaround needs and long-term brand investments.
  • Elevate the craft bar for motion design while being willing to perform essential production tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • A strong portfolio showcasing motion work with expertise in storytelling, art direction, animation craft, and visual systems thinking, including the ability to articulate the creative process.
  • Deep fluency in motion design tools and workflows such as After Effects, Figma, Cinema 4D, Lottie, Rive, or comparable production tools.
  • Experience building motion for brand, product, marketing, launch, or education contexts, preferably within a product-led technology or high-growth SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated ability to visually simplify complex concepts, with strong instincts for pacing, sequencing, hierarchy, narration, and accessibility.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, including the ability to clarify briefs, align with marketing goals, manage feedback, and prioritize requests.
  • A staff-level ownership mindset, capable of generating ideas, shaping systems, navigating ambiguity, providing and receiving feedback, and supporting execution when needed.
