Harvey is transforming legal and professional services by combining agentic AI, an enterprise platform, and domain expertise. We are seeking a privacy lawyer to join our growing global legal team in EMEA. You will play a key role in maintaining and promoting a culture of privacy and security within the organization, collaborating with legal, sales, engineering, and product teams to ensure business practices adhere to global privacy laws and regulations. This role involves partnering closely with the security function to safeguard data integrity and advising on privacy implications of product development.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements.
- Develop, maintain, and scale global privacy programs, including preparing Data Protection Impact Assessments and Records of Processing.
- Evaluate the impact of privacy and data protection laws on product developments in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Monitor and respond to changes in privacy laws and regulations, including AI regulations.
- Support implementation and compliance with AI-specific regulations like the EU AI Act and UK AI governance frameworks.
- Assist in classifying AI systems, assessing risk obligations, and developing internal AI governance controls.
- Partner with stakeholders on AI principles such as transparency, accountability, and human oversight.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 4+ years of post-qualification experience in privacy and data protection.
- Proven expertise in EU and U.S. data protection law, with familiarity across global compliance frameworks.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across legal and business teams.
- Highly responsive and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
