We are seeking experienced Legal Engineering Managers to lead and grow high-performing teams that support our go-to-market efforts. This position blends legal expertise, customer engagement, and commercial strategy, guiding clients on how Harvey can revolutionize legal work. You will manage a team of Legal Engineers who collaborate with Account Executives during the sales cycle, providing legal credibility, product knowledge, and consultative support. Beyond team management, you will engage directly with strategic clients, influence Harvey's go-to-market strategy, and work with Product, Marketing, Enablement, and Engineering teams to enhance our service to the legal sector. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on involvement, ideal for experienced legal professionals with litigation backgrounds who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and excel at problem-solving with a strong sense of ownership.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Legal Engineers, ensuring high standards in customer engagement, legal credibility, and commercial impact.
- Partner with Sales leadership and Account Executives to support strategic accounts, devise deal strategies, and achieve successful customer outcomes.
- Guide the team in complex customer engagements, including conducting discovery, leading product demonstrations, and advising on how Harvey can improve litigation, investigations, regulatory, and compliance workflows.
- Cultivate strong relationships with senior legal and business leaders, such as litigation partners, General Counsel, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Applied Legal Research, Marketing, and Enablement teams to refine positioning, workflows, customer solutions, and go-to-market strategies.
- Serve as the voice of the customer by consolidating frontline feedback to inform product roadmap decisions, feature development, and new use cases.
- Contribute to scaling the Legal Engineering organization by enhancing processes, enablement materials, demo strategies, and team best practices.
- Represent Harvey in the market through customer workshops, thought leadership, speaking engagements, and industry events.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of post-qualification experience, including substantial practice in litigation, investigations, arbitration, disputes, regulatory, or compliance counseling at a top-tier firm or legal organization.
- Proven experience managing a team with a track record of talent development and performance.
- In-depth knowledge of legal technology and AI tools, with the ability to rapidly master Harvey's platform and workflows.
- Strong understanding of litigation and disputes workflows, encompassing legal research, drafting, discovery, case strategy, and matter management.
- Robust commercial acumen and the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders in law firms, legal departments, and business organizations.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including experience delivering training, workshops, demos, or customer-facing sessions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach.
