About the job
Harvey is seeking a senior cross-functional operator to lead incident response for security and reliability incidents. This role will coordinate across engineering, security, and business teams under pressure, defining the standard for how Harvey runs and learns from incidents. You will build coordination playbooks, communication protocols, and post-incident remediation programs to close structural gaps. As the first dedicated incident response program hire, you will partner directly with security engineering, product, and executive leadership to shape this function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to build the incident management discipline at a fast-growing AI company, influencing how a high-trust platform protects sensitive customer data.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end coordination of security and reliability incidents, ensuring clear roles, rapid decision-making, and structured communication.
- Design and implement incident management processes, runbooks, and escalation frameworks.
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive remediation programs, tracking follow-up items and holding stakeholders accountable.
- Build and maintain incident readiness through tabletop exercises, on-call coordination improvements, and tooling.
- Serve as the communication hub during active incidents, translating technical status into clear updates for various stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in incident management, technical program management, or a related coordination-heavy role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through high-pressure situations with composure and clarity.
- Sufficient technical depth to understand distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and security concepts.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage concurrent workstreams and drive accountability.
- Experience building incident response or operational programs from scratch.
- High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills to operate credibly with diverse stakeholders.
