About the job
As a Staff Product Designer at Harvey, you will be instrumental in managing multiple projects from their initial ideation through to their successful launch. Your role will involve creating high-quality designs, interactions, and prototypes that effectively translate complex problems into intuitive solutions. You will collaborate closely with engineers, AI researchers, product managers, and legal professionals, with a specific focus on integrating AI in meaningful ways. This includes crafting interfaces that empower users to understand, trust, and effectively guide AI outputs, ensuring a seamless and productive user experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of end-to-end product experiences, from initial concept through polished execution.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and AI researchers to translate business objectives into user-centered designs.
- Shape and refine the design system for a cohesive and scalable visual language.
- Conduct user research to identify pain points and opportunities, using insights to inform design decisions.
- Develop prototypes to explore and validate new features, workflows, and interactions.
- Champion a high design bar and help the team make thoughtful, intentional decisions.
- Promote and develop best practices in designing with AI.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing products in a fast-paced environment.
- A portfolio demonstrating best work.
- Ability to tackle complex challenges and transform them into simple, intuitive experiences.
- Ability to shift focus from design details to big picture thinking while maintaining a high pace and quality.
- Deep understanding of design systems and strong visual and interaction design craft.
- Experience conducting user research and applying insights to design decisions.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to articulate design concepts and rationale.
