About the job

Harvey is seeking a Staff Motion Designer to define and elevate the presence of motion across all brand and product touchpoints. This new senior individual contributor role will be instrumental in shaping how motion is used in storytelling, product explainers, web experiences, customer education, and executive-facing creative work. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on, generalist approach to raising the motion craft bar, working within the Brand and Design team to translate complex AI product ideas into clear, memorable, and scalable motion systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, mission-driven company at the forefront of transforming professional services.

Responsibilities

  • Own the motion design language for Harvey’s brand across various creative assets including launch videos, product explainers, web and campaign moments, event assets, social cuts, and sales enablement.
  • Create motion concepts, storyboards, styleframes, animatics, and final motion assets that clearly communicate complex AI workflows.
  • Partner with Brand, Product Marketing, Product Design, Creative Operations, and other GTM stakeholders to translate product positioning and user needs into effective motion narratives.
  • Develop reusable motion systems, templates, animation principles, and production workflows to enable scalable motion output.
  • Utilize judgment to appropriately scope work, balancing polished hero moments with quick-turnaround needs and long-term brand investments.
  • Raise the craft bar for motion design while also performing necessary production work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • A strong portfolio showcasing motion work with expertise in storytelling, art direction, animation craft, and visual systems thinking.
  • Deep fluency in motion design tools and workflows such as After Effects, Figma, Cinema 4D, Lottie, Rive, or comparable production tools.
  • Experience building motion for brand, product, marketing, launch, or education contexts, preferably within a product-led technology or high-growth SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex concepts visually, with strong instincts for pacing, sequencing, hierarchy, narration, and accessibility.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, including the ability to clarify briefs, align with stakeholders, manage feedback, and prioritize requests.
  • A staff-level ownership mindset, capable of generating ideas, shaping systems, operating through ambiguity, and providing execution support when needed.
