About the job
Harvey is seeking a Senior People Operations Generalist to join its global People Operations team. This role will support the entire global employee population, handling onboarding, compliance, and day-to-day HR inquiries. A key aspect of this position will be managing global compliance programs, including building, maintaining, and improving them as the company scales into new countries. The role is ideal for someone with experience and a time zone that naturally supports EMEA and JAPAC coverage, acting as a primary point of contact during those hours. This is a senior generalist position offering significant ownership of a global function within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end employee lifecycle globally, including onboarding, changes, leaves, and exits.
- Manage global compliance programs, building new processes and improving existing ones for statutory leave, right-to-work, and data protection.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and external partners during EMEA/JAPAC business hours.
- Partner with global payroll and EOR platforms to manage country-specific new hire and offboarding requirements.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for global processes.
- Represent the People Operations team on EMEA/JAPAC matters, making judgment calls on urgent issues.
- Collaborate with US-based People Systems, Legal, IT, Payroll, and Workplace teams.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of HR/People Operations experience, preferably in a multi-country organization.
- Experience managing compliance programs, including building, maintaining, and improving processes.
- Hands-on knowledge of employment law and compliance in at least one region outside the US (EMEA and/or JAPAC experience preferred).
- Working knowledge of GDPR and HR data protection requirements.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll platforms such as Workday, Deel, or Remote.
- Proven ability to work independently across a global, distributed team.
- Strategic mindset with strong program and project management skills.
- Excellent written communication skills for asynchronous work.
- Comfort acting as a regional point of contact and representing the function externally.
