Harvey is seeking a founding People Data Analytics Lead to establish and direct the company's people analytics function. This role involves building the data infrastructure from the ground up, defining methodologies for measuring and modeling workforce data, and creating a unified view of the employee lifecycle. The objective is to provide leaders with actionable insights into workforce dynamics, enabling proactive intervention and understanding of talent development. This position is part of the People Ops team, with close collaboration across various departments, and offers the opportunity to build and lead a team as the function proves its value.
Responsibilities
- Build a comprehensive view of the employee lifecycle, connecting key stages from recruiting to exits to identify talent success and breakdown points.
- Define and execute the vision and roadmap for people data infrastructure, partnering with Data Engineering for source connectors and owning the data transformation and reporting layers.
- Consolidate workforce data from various HR systems and establish data quality frameworks for trustworthiness at scale.
- Standardize the measurement of key people metrics like headcount and attrition by defining and maintaining a people metrics dictionary.
- Develop scalable frameworks and methodologies for forecasting, modeling attrition, segmenting the organization, and benchmarking against the market.
- Transition People Analytics from reporting to intervention by identifying leading indicators and emerging organizational risks.
- Create dashboards for leadership providing clear workforce visibility, segmented by organization, region, and function.
- Establish a self-service foundation for partner teams to independently surface insights.
- Own headcount reconciliation and define standards for position management, maintaining a single source of truth across systems.
- Drive alignment with partner teams on reporting cadence and strategic people decision-making.
- Set standards for people data craft and grow the analytics capabilities of partner teams.
- Leverage AI to automate workflows, accelerate analysis, and scale impact.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in people analytics, HR data, or workforce analytics, preferably in a high-growth tech company.
- Proven track record of building people analytics functions, frameworks, or methodologies from scratch.
- Strong SQL proficiency for complex queries and analytical thinking.
- Experience with dbt or a comparable data transformation framework is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse, with Snowflake strongly preferred.
- Experience with at least one BI tool (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- Direct experience with Workday (HRIS) and ATS systems, understanding people data structure and potential issues.
- Experience mentoring or upskilling partner teams on data practices and reporting.
- Proficiency in using AI tools daily for workflow automation and analysis.
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Ability to communicate persuasively with executives and frame data into actionable recommendations.
