About the job

Harvey is seeking experienced Legal Engineering Managers to lead and grow high-performing teams focused on go-to-market efforts. This role bridges legal expertise, customer engagement, and commercial strategy, helping clients understand how Harvey can revolutionize legal work. You will manage a team of Legal Engineers who collaborate with Account Executives during the sales process, providing legal credibility, product knowledge, and consultative support. Beyond team management, you will engage directly with strategic customers, influence Harvey's go-to-market strategy, and partner with Product, Marketing, Enablement, and Engineering teams to enhance Harvey's service to the legal industry. This position requires a strategic and hands-on approach, ideal for experienced legal professionals with a corporate legal background and in-house experience, who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and excel at solving complex problems with a strong sense of ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Legal Engineers, ensuring high standards in customer engagement, legal credibility, and commercial impact.
  • Partner with Sales leadership and Account Executives to support strategic accounts, develop deal strategies, and achieve successful customer outcomes.
  • Oversee team engagement in complex customer interactions, including conducting discovery, leading product demonstrations, and advising on workflow improvements for in-house legal teams.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with senior legal and business stakeholders, such as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officers.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Applied Legal Research, Marketing, and Enablement teams to refine positioning, workflows, customer solutions, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by synthesizing feedback to inform product roadmap decisions, feature development, and new use cases.
  • Contribute to scaling the Legal Engineering organization by enhancing processes, enablement materials, demo strategies, and team best practices.
  • Represent Harvey in the market through customer workshops, thought leadership, speaking engagements, and industry events.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of PQE, including substantial experience in corporate law, commercial contracting, M&A, private equity, emerging companies and venture capital, capital markets, or other corporate transactional work, or advising on corporate governance, with in-house experience.
  • Proven experience managing a team, with a track record of talent development and performance driving.
  • Deep familiarity with legal technology and AI tools, with the ability to quickly master Harvey's platform and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of the workflows, challenges, and priorities of in-house legal teams.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and ability to engage credibly with senior legal and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including experience leading trainings, workshops, demos, or customer-facing sessions.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • A strong perspective on the future of the legal industry and the impact of AI on legal services.
