Harvey is seeking a Head of Creative Operations to establish the essential infrastructure, people management, and operational systems required for a high-output creative function. This player-coach role involves leading a team of creative producers across various disciplines while also actively identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks. The core of the position is to build a robust operating model encompassing clear intake processes, strategic roadmapping, efficient resourcing, strong vendor management, and process discipline to maximize creative output. The ideal candidate will possess strong production instincts and leadership capabilities, with a proven history of managing complex productions, leading teams, and developing scalable systems for creative functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of creative producers across brand, campaign, video, events, and web production.
- Build and maintain an operating model for Brand & Creative covering intake, prioritization, resourcing, trafficking, and reporting.
- Define and manage the intake process for creative work, including forms, briefing standards, and prioritization frameworks.
- Own and optimize creative project management tools and workflows for consistent use across teams and partners.
- Oversee capacity planning and resourcing for internal creatives, producers, agencies, and freelancers.
- Manage relationships with external production companies, agencies, and freelancers.
- Track and manage budgets across creative programs, identifying risks and proposing solutions.
- Develop and maintain playbooks, process documentation, and scalable workflows.
- Act as a liaison between Brand & Creative and other functions like Marketing, Product Marketing, Comms, Sales, and Customer Success.
- Identify workflow and collaboration pain points, run experiments to improve them, and measure impact.
Requirements
- 8+ years in creative operations, production management, or brand operations, preferably in a high-growth tech company.
- 3+ years managing teams of producers or project managers.
- Deep expertise in creative project management tools (e.g., Asana, Airtable, Linear) and configuring them for fast-moving teams.
- Experience managing complex productions across brand campaigns, video, events, and digital/web.
- Proven ability to manage agency and freelancer relationships at scale, including contracts and performance.
- Strong budget management skills, including owning and reconciling spend.
- Comfort operating at both strategic and executional levels.
- Excellent communication skills for managing stakeholders at all levels.
- A process-oriented mindset with an appreciation for creative quality.
