About the job

Harvey is transforming legal and professional services by integrating frontier agentic AI with an enterprise-grade platform. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly scaling, category-defining company with strong product-market fit and investor backing. We are seeking individuals with a drive for excellence, a commitment to our mission, and a desire to do the best work of their careers alongside a high-performing team. Our values of Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished guide our fast-paced, ownership-driven culture.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead Harvey's government affairs and public policy function, establishing strategy, engagement frameworks, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Define Harvey's policy positions on AI governance, the future of the legal profession, responsible technology deployment, and access to justice.
  • Develop and maintain direct relationships with policymakers, regulators, bar associations, judicial, legislative, and regulatory bodies globally.
  • Shape Harvey's public positioning in partnership with senior leadership and communications teams.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with policymakers worldwide, advocating for positions that support Harvey's product strategy and the broader legal ecosystem.
  • Serve as a strategic bridge between the external policy environment and internal product and go-to-market teams, identifying regulatory triggers and policy implications.
  • Inform product and market strategy by surfacing emerging compliance requirements, public-sector opportunities, and ethically complex AI-related questions.
  • Hire and develop regional government affairs managers and establish operational infrastructure for policy monitoring and coordination.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory work, preferably within a major technology or professional services company, government, or leading firm.
  • A policy-first orientation, emphasizing education and credibility with policymakers over lobbying.
  • Proven ability to build a function, set strategy, and establish relationships from inception.
  • Deep, trusted relationships with senior government, regulatory, and institutional stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Substantive familiarity with the legal industry, judiciary, or regulatory environment for legal services and AI.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) strongly preferred.
