Glean is seeking recent university graduates with a passion for software engineering to join our team. As a University Graduate Software Engineer, you will participate in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that power our products and services. You will own impactful infrastructure problems from inception to production launch, write design documents and robust code, and collaborate with a strong team to prioritize projects. Team placements will be made based on interest and open roles, with opportunities in Backend, Product, and ML Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Own infrastructure problems from inception and architecture to production launch.
- Write design documents and robust, high-quality, well-tested code.
- Collaborate with the team to identify impactful projects for the roadmap.
- Mentor junior engineers or learn from experienced ones.
Requirements
- BA/BS in computer science or related degree, completed before joining.
- Experience working on infrastructure for distributed systems or cloud-native applications.
- Experience building and shipping ML models and/or solving NLP problems.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data.
- Experience in recommendation systems, natural language processing, applied machine learning, large-scale production search/ranking systems, or related systems.
- Experience building fast web applications.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule from the Mountain View office.
- Strong coding skills in languages like Go/Python/Java/Javascript/C++.
- Emphasis on designing for reliability and scale, and writing well-tested components.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Proven ability to design, build, and ship production-ready models.
- Passion for learning and staying current with industry trends and technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development practices in GCP/AWS/Azure is a plus.
