Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots with the goal of shipping them with human-level intelligence for home and commercial markets. The Helix team is looking for an experienced Data Infrastructure Engineer to advance the AI data infrastructure. This role involves building tools and software components for robot data management, including offloading, storage, manipulation, and access, while managing on-premise and cloud resources and providing production support. The ideal candidate will have experience building tools and infrastructure for large-scale autonomous or deep learning systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain tools and software components for robot data offloading, storage, manipulation, and access.
- Architect and manage large-scale storage and compute resources across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Implement optimal data transmission and storage solutions for the entire data pipeline, from recording to neural network training.
- Collaborate with AI researchers to support new data workflows.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional, full-time experience building reliable backend systems.
- Experience with Linux and command line tools.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience using and managing data stores such as Postgres, MySQL, ElasticSearch, and Redis.
