About the job
Fiddler is building trust into AI, especially with the rise of Generative AI and Agents. Our platform helps organizations deploy trustworthy and transparent AI solutions by monitoring, evaluating, securing, analyzing, and improving AI applications. We partner with AI-first organizations to establish responsible AI practices, fostering user trust. Our Integrations Team focuses on the connective tissue between customer AI stacks and our observability platform, building OpenTelemetry-native SDKs, framework instrumentation, and ingestion pipelines for various AI environments including predictive models, LLMs, GenAI, and agentic applications. This role offers a broad scope, combining SDK/instrumentation leadership, OpenTelemetry expertise, distributed systems architecture, and AI observability platform development.
Responsibilities
- Design and build SDKs, instrumentation libraries, and connectors for AI telemetry and model data ingestion.
- Own and advance Fiddler's OpenTelemetry and OTLP strategy, including instrumentation, collectors, and exporters.
- Define and implement semantic conventions for agentic frameworks, creating a unified model for heterogeneous sources.
- Architect distributed ingestion and processing systems for ML and agentic observability signals at enterprise scale.
- Design scalable data infrastructure, services, and APIs to handle high-throughput ingestion and meet compliance needs.
- Champion developer experience for SDKs, ensuring ease of use, backward compatibility, and comprehensive documentation.
- Partner with product and customers to build new metrics and evaluation capabilities for evolving AI use cases.
- Improve the operational maturity of the ingestion path, focusing on reliability, latency, SLOs, and CI/CD.
- Contribute to growing the engineering team through interviewing, evaluating candidates, mentoring, and coaching.
Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of industry experience with a strong foundation in software development.
- Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry/OTLP, including instrumentation, collectors, semantic conventions, and sampling.
- Deep proficiency in Python.
- Strong command of backend and ingestion systems.
