Exa is an applied AI lab building a search engine unlike the world has ever seen, focusing on massive-scale infrastructure, state-of-the-art embedding models, and high-performance vector databases. The company aims to build perfect search over all the world's information, far beyond Google, and is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to work on all aspects of their developer product, including the developer dashboard, APIs, SDKs, and the broader developer platform. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build massive-scale ML systems that will define how the new AI world consumes information.
Responsibilities
- Build agentic onboarding flows for developers and their agents.
- Shape the Exa API and SDKs to create an ergonomic agentic search platform.
- Architect the API gateway for all Exa requests.
- Build account, billing, permissions, and provisioning features for enterprise customers.
Requirements
- Strong generalist engineering skills, comfortable owning the product lifecycle from design to deployment.
- Fluent in TypeScript with a strong eye for front-end design.
- Experience designing and maintaining backend APIs used by real users and customers.
- Shipped products for LLMs, AI agents, or other widely used systems.
- 3+ years of fullstack engineering experience.
- Cares about the problem of finding high-quality information.
