Decagon is seeking a Security Engineer to help build and scale the security foundations of its customer experience platform. This role involves implementing security controls, building security tooling, and strengthening defenses against modern threats. You will work with the head of Security to maintain an enterprise-ready security and compliance posture, combining hands-on security engineering with software development. The position involves building automated remediation tools, working on detection pipelines, and partnering with engineering teams to enhance platform security. You will collaborate with a skilled and enthusiastic team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement security controls across the agent platform, including application and infrastructure security.
- Build security tooling and automation, such as automated remediation pipelines, detection systems, and testing frameworks integrated into CI/CD workflows.
- Partner with engineering teams to design and review authentication systems, secrets management, and access controls.
- Create detection pipelines that scale with millions of daily AI agent interactions.
- Contribute to security incident response, supporting rapid resolution while maintaining service availability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in security engineering with strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with application security concepts (authentication, authorization, vulnerability assessment, secure development).
- Ability to write production-quality code for building tools and automation.
- Experience with cloud security fundamentals, preferably Google Cloud.
- Exposure to enterprise security requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Natural curiosity about new technologies and security problem-solving approaches.
