Decagon is seeking an IT Engineer to join their lean and highly collaborative IT team. This role will be the hands-on IT presence for the San Francisco office, playing a critical role in supporting a fast-scaling global workforce. You will co-own identity and access management, endpoint administration, and SaaS operations, while also working the support queue and solving problems at the root. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and leveraging technology to create scalable solutions, contributing to the foundations required for the company's next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site IT support engineer for the San Francisco office, resolving hardware, account, and access issues.
- Administer and evolve core SaaS stack including Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, and Notion.
- Own the employee identity lifecycle, including onboarding, off-boarding, and access changes.
- Configure and maintain SSO, SAML, OIDC, and SCIM integrations for new SaaS applications.
- Manage Mac endpoint management through Rippling MDM, including policies, patching, and compliance.
- Automate recurring IT and access-management tasks using Python, Bash, or similar tools.
- Support security and compliance efforts, including least-privilege access and MFA enforcement.
- Write and maintain clear run-books and architecture documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance IT operations at scale.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in IT systems, endpoint, or identity engineering.
- Hands-on administration experience with Okta.
- Working knowledge of SSO, SAML, OIDC, and SCIM.
- Experience managing SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and Rippling.
- Experience with Mac endpoint management (Rippling or similar MDM).
- Scripting ability in Python or Bash with proven automation experience.
- Strong troubleshooting instincts across identity, networking, and SaaS integrations.
- Clear written communication skills for documentation.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a preference for owning problems end to end.
- Willingness to work in the San Francisco office 5 days a week and provide in-person support.
