Decagon is seeking a Field Engineer to own the technical scoping and implementation of complex requirements for enterprise prospects and customers. In this dynamic, cross-functional role, you will serve as the technical expert and trusted advisor, proving technical feasibility and potentially carrying work through to production. You will build intricate integrations, configure and optimize AI agents for production environments, and collaborate with Solutions Engineers, Product, and Engineering teams to develop necessary features. Your responsibilities will include establishing technical credibility with stakeholders across various organizational levels and driving the technical win for critical enterprise opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical win on critical enterprise opportunities by partnering with sales and product teams to build software and agents.
- Design and deliver custom integrations against enterprise telephony and CCaaS platforms, from prototype to production.
- Configure and optimize enterprise-grade AI agents using Agent Operating Procedures, iterating based on production data.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in live customer instances across telephony, voice flows, tool calls, and third-party integrations.
- Lead discussions with customers to identify how AI can unlock business value within their technology stack.
- Educate customers on extracting more value from the Decagon platform through technical enablement.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience owning highly ambiguous and technical projects.
- Proficiency in writing production-grade code in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
- Experience building integrations against third-party APIs and enterprise systems.
- Comfort working with unfamiliar documentation to achieve rapid implementation.
- Ability to engage in technical conversations with customer engineering teams and translate insights into implementation plans.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and collaborating cross-functionally.
