About the job
Decagon is seeking a highly technical and customer-facing Agent Deployment Engineer to join their specialized technical delivery team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end execution of AI agent builds for strategic enterprise customers, from initial design and scoping through implementation, evaluation, and production deployment. You will partner with customers and internal teams to define success, translate requirements into build plans, and deliver agents that significantly impact the customer's business. This position requires a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, shaping solutions as much as implementing them.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture and execution of AI agent builds for enterprise customers.
- Design and engineer core agentic logic to optimize quality, reliability, and correctness.
- Engineer and validate layered guardrails and supervisory controls for safe and predictable agent performance.
- Architect, build, and test integrations with customer systems, including necessary tools and workflows.
- Interface with senior technical stakeholders at customers to define success criteria and drive technical delivery.
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve probabilistic and technical failures through root-cause analysis.
- Design evaluation and regression-testing frameworks to validate agent behavior.
- Translate customer needs into internal documentation and provide feedback to the engineering team for platform improvements.
- Partner with APMs, Engineering, Design, and Go-To-Market teams to deliver consistent agent builds.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a technical customer-facing role (e.g., solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, technical consulting).
- Native or business-level fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
- Strong technical foundation: comfortable writing code, working with APIs, and building/validating integrations.
- Experience delivering production-grade customer solutions with structured execution, testing, and iteration.
- Ability to communicate clearly with senior technical stakeholders, translate requirements into implementation plans, and drive delivery.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where you shape solutions as much as you implement them.
