Decagon is seeking an Agent Deployment Engineer to join their specialized technical delivery team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end execution of AI agent builds for strategic enterprise customers. You will own the hands-on implementation work, from initial scoping and systems design through to evaluation and production deployment, ensuring agents perform reliably at scale. This position requires partnering closely with customers and internal teams to define success, translate requirements into build plans, and deliver agents that have a meaningful business impact. You will also contribute to the evolution of Decagon's agent-building platform by surfacing gaps and providing feedback based on real customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture and execution of AI agent builds for enterprise customers.
- Design and engineer core agentic logic to optimize quality, reliability, and correctness.
- Engineer and validate layered guardrails and supervisory controls for safe and predictable agent performance.
- Architect, build, and test integrations with customer systems.
- Interface with senior technical stakeholders at customers to define success criteria and drive technical delivery.
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve probabilistic and technical failures through root-cause analysis.
- Design evaluation and regression-testing frameworks to validate agent behavior.
- Translate customer needs into internal documentation and provide feedback to the Engineering team for platform improvements.
- Partner with APMs, Engineering, Design, and Go-To-Market teams to deliver consistent agent builds.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a technical customer-facing role (e.g., solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, technical consulting, implementation engineering).
- Strong technical foundation: comfortable writing code, working with APIs, and building/validating integrations.
- Experience delivering production-grade customer solutions requiring structured execution, testing, and iteration.
- Ability to communicate clearly with senior technical stakeholders, translate requirements into implementation plans, and drive delivery.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where you shape solutions as much as you implement them.
