Dataleap is seeking a highly autonomous engineer to operate at a CTO level, taking vague problems and building end-to-end solutions that deliver tangible value. This role is backend-heavy and AI-native, with the expectation of full-stack capabilities when necessary. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, requires no hand-holding, and is driven to ship impactful products without waiting for detailed specifications. This is a unique opportunity to be a founding engineer and shape the future of an enterprise agentic operating system.
Responsibilities
- Own large parts of the product end-to-end, from user insight to production.
- Build and improve agentic systems for accuracy, reliability, and power.
- Work at the frontier of AI engineering, including context engineering, tool use, and agent architectures.
- Engage with users to understand pain points and scope features that solve problems.
- Drive AI-first development, including Claude Code, coding agents, and automation.
- Review code rapidly and maintain a high standard across the codebase.
Requirements
- Operate at CTO-level, scoping and building solutions end-to-end.
- Backend-heavy with AI-native capabilities and full-stack flexibility.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity without detailed specifications.
- Razor-sharp engineering skills to solve hard problems quickly.
- Strong product sense, building for users.
- Proficiency or strong interest in Go and clean, maintainable code.
- Experience building AI products, ideally agentic systems or AI coding tools.
- Proven ability to build something from scratch (startup, side project, feature).
- AI research background or experience at an AI coding startup is a plus.
