Databricks is seeking a dedicated Senior Engineering Manager to help grow the AI/BI Dashboard product and service platform. This role involves tackling challenging full-stack and backend problems, focusing on making agentic dashboard authoring and AI insights fast and performant while maintaining high quality. The manager will enable the creation and consumption of Dashboards and BI features across the entire Databricks platform and scale the service to a significantly larger user base. A key aspect of this role is applying AI and LLM technology directly into the product surface and guiding the team to balance quality with performance and cost.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple engineering teams of full stack/backend engineers, SMEs, and managers focused on AI/BI initiatives.
- Oversee sustained recruitment of top-tier IC talent and Managers, and develop talent across the teams.
- Build processes to implement product vision and strategy according to organizational goals and priorities.
- Build software that is high quality and easy to operate.
- Manage technical debt, including long-term technical architecture decisions, and balance the product roadmap.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience managing multiple teams that build and operate products and systems in a SaaS environment.
- 10+ years of experience with distributed systems and building products, platforms, and services.
- Experience in scaling engineering teams from 15 to 35+.
- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple locations.
- BS or higher in Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong track record of attracting, hiring, and retaining top engineering talent.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving tech environment.
- Team player that will work with other departments (PM, CS) and engineering teams.
