About the job
CoreWeave is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Applications Engineering team, which builds the software used to plan and operate CoreWeave's infrastructure business. This role involves building full-stack applications and features within the company's data platform, UNION, and owning them in production. The work includes developing natural language interfaces and agents that operate on governed data, along with the necessary evaluation mechanisms. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to define software requirements and take full ownership of product areas from conception to deployment and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Build full-stack applications and features for the UNION data platform.
- Own applications and features in production, from interface to data model.
- Develop AI-facing features, including natural language interfaces and agents.
- Implement evaluation work to assess the quality of AI outputs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define software requirements and product direction.
- Operate and maintain services in production.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production software, including backend services and modern web frontends.
- Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
- Real-world experience with React, Next.js, or a comparable modern framework.
- Experience designing and running HTTP APIs with considerations for timeouts, retries, and data correctness.
- Strong SQL and relational data modeling skills, including experience with schema evolution.
- Experience shipping LLM-backed features to production and measuring their correctness.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and deployment tools like Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
- Experience operating your own services.
- Experience integrating applications with data platforms and analytical databases (e.g., Spark, Kafka, StarRocks, Snowflake).
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and on-call responsibilities.
- Experience working directly with non-engineers to define and build unspecified requirements.
- Ability to work at speed and adapt to changing business priorities.
- Willingness to build evaluation tools to measure AI product performance.
- Commitment to owning and standing behind shipped software.
