The Customer Engineer (CE) is a key driver of our technical go-to-market strategy, acting as a trusted advisor who manages the technical relationship from initial discovery through long-term adoption and account expansion. You will operate as a quota-carrying technologist, using AI-augmented workflows to automate administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on high-value architectural design and driving measurable business outcomes throughout the customer journey.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, build custom architectures, and deliver product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) across Cloudflare's portfolio.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle, maintaining deep relationships with key stakeholders.
- Own the long-term technical relationship, ensuring alignment between customer business goals and our product roadmap.
- Carry a variable quota for new business acquisition and account growth, ensuring deep platform adoption and revenue retention.
- Leverage AI agents and internal platforms to automate tasks like RFP responses, sandbox provisioning, and telemetry monitoring.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineer).
- Broad technical expertise in web security, networking (routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation), cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
- Proven track record in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment, with understanding of SaaS metrics, business value translation, and enterprise sales cycles.
- Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills, able to communicate technical details to C-suite executives.
