Clay is seeking a full stack product engineer to develop products that empower self-serve and enterprise customers to realize their growth aspirations. This role is pivotal in shaping Clay as a creative tool for business growth, requiring ownership of product surfaces across the entire stack. You will function as both a Product Manager and an Engineer, identifying problems, defining solutions, rapidly deploying them, and gathering customer feedback to ensure success. This position offers numerous engaging challenges and technical problems to solve.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and execution from conception through maintenance, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Define product problems, write specifications, make scope decisions, and manage trade-offs.
- Engage directly with customers to gather feedback and understand product usage.
- Ship and iterate on features quickly in a fast-paced, low-process environment.
- Design and build complex full-stack features.
- Contribute to the performance, reliability, and development velocity of the product codebase.
- Mentor other engineers and learn from team members with diverse strengths.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on engineering experience building high-quality products.
- Proven ability to drive and own products end-to-end, including product definition.
- Comfortable with rapid iteration and making pragmatic trade-offs.
- Strong desire to work closely with customers and understand their needs.
- Empathetic communicator with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Commitment to code quality and raising the engineering bar.
- Familiarity with React, Typescript, Python, Node.js, AWS services (Aurora, Elasticache, ECR, ECS, Lambda, OpenSearch), Terraform, CircleCI, Netlify, Playwright, Cloudwatch, Datadog, and Mezmo, or the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
