Bland.com is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Internal Platform Team. This role is crucial in building the foundational systems that power the company's operations, including revenue, finance, HR, security, and operations. You will be responsible for designing and implementing the data warehouse from scratch, establishing a single source of truth for decision-making across all departments. The position offers the opportunity to shape the platform's future, working directly with the internal platform lead and influencing architectural decisions and priorities. The work is dynamic, spanning finance, sales, marketing, operations, and security, ensuring a varied and impactful experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and build the company's data warehouse from the ground up, defining data ingestion, modeling, and trust mechanisms.
- Integrate data from various sources including billing, contracts, usage, CRM, and marketing, ensuring incremental imports, backfills, and historical tracking.
- Develop customer mappings and shared data models for contracts, billing, usage, sales, and marketing to create a unified business language.
- Own and manage pipeline monitoring, data quality checks, access controls, performance, and cost optimization.
- Build reporting views for dashboards, provide data context for internal AI agents, and develop necessary APIs, automation, and internal tools.
Requirements
- Strong SQL skills.
- Ability to build services and integrations using Python or another general-purpose language.
- Proven experience shipping meaningful technical work through a job, internship, or substantial project.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to own end-to-end system design.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, including testing edge cases and reconciling outputs.
