Mistral AI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join their team and facilitate the adoption of their products among customers. This role involves working closely with clients from the pre-sale stage through post-implementation, ensuring their solutions meet and exceed expectations. The engineer will manage daily customer relations, act as a key resource for externalizing research in production settings, and collaborate with researchers, AI engineers, and product engineers on complex customer projects. The goal is to drive the successful deployment of Mistral AI products and contribute to technological transformation across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Onboard customers to products and APIs, providing guidance on prompting, evaluation, and fine-tuning.
- Ensure optimal production integration with back-end and front-end interfaces.
- Work on state-of-the-art GenAI applications for consumer products and industrial use cases.
- Deploy into production use cases with significant business impact across various industries.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers on complex customer projects, including fine-tuning and LLM applications.
- Contribute to open-source codebases for tasks like inference and fine-tuning.
- Participate in pre-sales calls to understand client needs and provide technical guidance on Mistral technologies.
- Collaborate with product and science teams to improve product and model capabilities based on customer feedback.
Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- PhD or Master's degree in AI or Data Science.
- 2+ years as a technical individual contributor (data scientist or software engineer) on AI-based products.
- Experience in Fine Tuning LLMs, tackling advanced RAG or agentic use cases.
- Deep understanding of machine learning and LLM concepts and algorithms.
- Experience building and deploying LLMs or NLP applications.
- Proven experience in AI or machine learning product implementation with APIs, back-end, and front-end interfaces.
- Strong technical coding skills in Python.
- Experience with deep learning using PyTorch.
- Experience with agent frameworks like Langchain and vector databases.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
