Mistral AI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join their team and facilitate the adoption of their products among customers. This role involves collaborating closely with clients from pre-sale to post-implementation, ensuring their solutions meet and exceed expectations. You will manage daily customer relations, acting as a key resource for externalizing research into production settings and driving the successful deployment of Mistral AI products. The position offers the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art Generative AI applications across various industries and contribute to a pioneering company shaping the future of AI.
Responsibilities
- Onboard customers onto products and APIs, providing guidance on prompting, evaluation, and fine-tuning.
- Ensure seamless production integration with back-end and front-end interfaces.
- Work on state-of-the-art GenAI applications for consumer products and industrial use cases.
- Deploy into production use cases with considerable business impact across various industries.
- Collaborate with researchers, AI engineers, and product engineers on complex customer projects.
- Contribute to open-source codebases for tasks such as inference and fine-tuning.
- Participate in pre-sales calls to understand potential clients' needs and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with product and science teams to improve product and model capabilities based on customer feedback.
Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- PhD or Master's degree in AI or Data Science.
- 2+ years as a technical individual contributor (data scientist or software engineer) on AI-based products.
- Experience in Fine Tuning LLMs, tackling advanced RAG or agentic use cases.
- Deep understanding of concepts and algorithms underlying machine learning and LLMs.
- Experience building and deploying LLMs or NLP applications.
- Proven experience in AI or machine learning product implementation with APIs, back-end and front-end interfaces.
- Strong technical coding skills in Python.
- Experience with deep learning using PyTorch.
- Experience with agent frameworks like Langchain and vector databases.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience as a Customer Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Product Manager (ideal).
