Mistral AI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to drive the adoption of its products and solve complex technical challenges for customers. The Applied AI team works directly with enterprise clients from pre-sales through implementation, deploying cutting-edge AI solutions to deliver measurable business impact. This role bridges the gap between AI research and real-world applications, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with customer needs and Mistral's vision. Responsibilities
- Deploy production use cases with significant business impact across various industries.
- Develop state-of-the-art GenAI applications for consumer and industrial use cases, driving technological transformation with customers.
- Collaborate with researchers, AI engineers, and product engineers on complex customer projects, including fine-tuning, LLM applications, and contributing to open-source codebases for inference and fine-tuning.
- Participate in pre-sales calls to understand client needs and provide technical guidance on Mistral products and technologies.
- Collaborate with product and science teams to enhance product and model capabilities based on customer feedback.
Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- 2+ years of experience as a technical individual contributor (data scientist or software engineer) on AI-based products.
- Proven experience in AI or machine learning product implementation with APIs, back-end, and front-end interfaces.
- Experience in fine-tuning LLMs, tackling advanced RAG or agentic use cases.
- Deep understanding of machine learning and LLM concepts and algorithms.
- Strong technical coding skills in Python.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
