About the job
Anthropic is seeking researchers and experts from philosophy, cognitive science, economics, policy, and law for a four-month fellowship program. This program pairs fellows with Anthropic's research teams to work alongside frontier AI models and internal tooling. The goal is to evaluate, improve, and apply Claude's capabilities within the fellows' respective fields, contributing to the development of reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems.
Responsibilities
- Identify key open problems in your field and assess approaches to solving them using Claude.
- Assess Claude's strengths and weaknesses in tackling grand societal challenges relevant to your field.
- Design evaluations and RL environments to systematically test Claude's reasoning capabilities in your field.
- Collaborate with other fellows to build environments that challenge Claude on complex, judgment-heavy problems.
Requirements
- PhD in philosophy, cognitive science, economics, policy, or law, or equivalent research experience.
- Hands-on experience using Claude and Claude Code in a daily workflow.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-agency atmosphere and delivering concrete results.
- Existing authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the program.
