About the job
Accenture is seeking a Lead Data Engineer focused on AI and Modernization to join their Digital Core Reinvention practice. This role involves leading data engineering efforts for migration engagements, building data pipelines and products that feed AI systems. You will apply evidence-extraction techniques, such as dependency analysis and git-history mining, to understand the source data estate before trusting any mappings. The ideal candidate is a data engineer who prefers to investigate data origins directly rather than relying solely on documentation. While extensive AI experience is not required, a strong background in a related discipline combined with hands-on work with LLM-based systems is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Lead data engineering work on migration engagements.
- Develop data pipelines and data products for AI systems.
- Apply evidence-extraction techniques (dependency analysis, git-history mining) to source data.
- Design data supply for AI systems, including vector stores and embedding pipelines.
- Contribute to agentic data architecture, designing data supply for cooperating agents.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on data engineering or data platform engineering.
- At least 1-2 years specifically on AI/LLM-related data work.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in agile engineering or consulting teams.
- Minimum 3 years with Python and SQL at production scale.
- Experience with at least one cloud data platform.
- Working fluency with data lineage and data observability.
- Minimum 1 year designing data supply for AI systems (vector stores, embedding pipelines, agent-facing data products).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience, or Associate's Degree with minimum 6 years work experience.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage.
- 401(k) plan.
- Bonus opportunities.
- Paid holidays.
- Paid time off.
