About the job
As an AI/ML Computational Scientist Manager, you will design, build, and operationalize artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions for enterprise clients. This involves combining custom models with cloud and third-party AI services to deliver production-ready outcomes. Your role will encompass the entire solution lifecycle, from assessing client needs and data, to selecting and customizing models (including Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models). You will also design scalable data and MLOps/LLMOps pipelines for training and production, ensuring the quality, value, and reliability of deployed systems. This position requires formulating real-world problems into practical, efficient, and scalable AI and Machine Learning solutions, and engaging in research and development of new AI and high-performance compute algorithms.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operationalize AI and ML solutions for enterprise clients.
- Assess client needs and data to inform solution design.
- Select and customize models, including Deep Learning, Generative AI, and LLMs.
- Design scalable data and MLOps/LLMOps pipelines for training and production.
- Ensure quality, value, and reliability of deployed AI/ML systems.
- Formulate real-world problems into practical, efficient, and scalable AI/ML solutions.
- Develop and implement machine learning algorithms, models, and computational systems.
- Design and build scalable data pipelines for model training and production.
- Customize and apply Deep Learning and Gen AI models based on business needs and data.
- Engage in R&D of new AI and high-performance compute algorithms, models, and simulations.
- Work with large-scale datasets and apply preprocessing techniques.
- Implement and maintain efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms for models.
- Justify the business value of model approaches.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to achieve end-to-end project goals.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a machine learning engineer or scientist deploying models in production at scale.
- Considerable experience in applying theoretical foundations of computer science, including system architecture and programming.
- Experience in distributed computing systems and architecture (big data, HPC, cloud computing).
- Experience building and deploying AI/ML software to a cloud environment.
- Proficiency in Python and Python-based AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience working with LLM APIs and optimizing their usage.
- Experience with programming languages: Python, C++, Java, R, SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong client-facing skills in a consulting environment.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity for emergent tech and innovation.
- German language proficiency at B2 level minimum.
