Abridge is seeking a Revenue & Technical Accounting Manager to oversee the company's complex accounting arrangements and design agentic systems for efficient operations. As Abridge's AI is adopted by numerous health systems, the company's commercial and business operations are evolving, presenting new accounting challenges. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting and scaling accounting processes for a fast-growing, pre-IPO company. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future of agentic accounting and technical research at Abridge, working within an automation- and agentic-first team.
Responsibilities
- Own revenue accounting for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including complex entries, deferred revenue, and flux review.
- Review complex customer contracts to identify performance obligations, determine transaction price, allocate standalone selling price (SSP), and flag non-standard terms.
- Serve as the escalation point for complicated contract accounting issues.
- Manage accounting for customer consideration, including service credits and equity-based incentives like warrants.
- Maintain SSP analysis and manage accounting for partner revenue-share arrangements and capitalized contract costs.
- Research and draft memos on technical accounting topics such as stock-based compensation, financings, M&A, and equity-based customer incentives.
- Settle technical positions with auditors and external advisors before the audit period.
- Keep revenue recognition and other accounting policies current.
- Translate complex accounting concepts into plain language for stakeholders.
- Design and build agentic systems to extract terms from agreements and draft accounting treatments.
- Define end-to-end workflows for agentic systems, including human review and exception paths.
- Co-own oversight of the revenue agent, reviewing output and refining rules.
- Partner with the Systems team on data flow from Salesforce and contract management systems to the ERP.
- Develop agentic systems for technical research, including guidance retrieval and memo drafting.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for auditors on revenue and technical accounting matters.
- Draft revenue and technical accounting sections of annual financial statements and footnotes.
- Design and document key controls.
Requirements
- Experience in revenue accounting for complex arrangements.
- Experience in technical accounting research and documentation.
- Experience designing and building agentic systems or automation workflows.
- Curiosity, openness to learning, and willingness to experiment and build.
- Ability to work closely with GL Accounting Manager, FinOps Lead, Systems, RevOps, Legal, Deal Desk partners, and Big 4 auditors.
- Understanding of accounting principles related to ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350-40, stock-based compensation, financings, M&A, and customer incentives.
