About the job
You.com is building the AI Search Infrastructure that powers modern AI systems, aiming to create a trusted knowledge layer for agents, applications, and enterprises. Our platform combines proprietary indexes with LLM-optimized retrieval systems to solve complex problems in search, large language models, and large-scale infrastructure, making AI systems more reliable, transparent, and useful. This hybrid product engineering and go-to-market role offers significant impact at the intersection of these areas, focusing on shaping our API surface and engaging directly with key customers.
Responsibilities
- Own and define the roadmap for core search APIs and adjacent surfaces, including monitoring, vertical feeds, evaluation tooling, and new primitives.
- Lead solutions for strategic accounts by partnering with customer founders and engineering leaders to architect integrations and foster long-term partnerships.
- Translate customer feedback into concrete product bets, writing specifications, prioritizing the roadmap, and ensuring high-leverage learnings become shipped features.
- Serve as the technical face of the product by conducting deep-dives, writing documentation, and creating reference implementations.
- Collaborate with engineering on API design, performance, and developer experience, setting a high technical bar.
- Prototype new API primitives and ship production code into the core stack when necessary.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in engineering and product roles, with significant focus on developer-facing or API products.
- Ability to write and ship production code.
- Deep familiarity with the AI agent and LLM ecosystem, including retrieval systems and current tooling limitations.
- Proven track record of owning ambiguous, high-stakes problems end-to-end.
- Strong customer instincts with the ability to build technical credibility with engineers and commercial credibility with executives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for writing specs, follow-ups, and postmortems.
- Comfort with the dynamic environment of an early-stage startup, including shifting priorities and making decisions with incomplete information.
Benefits
- Competitive base salary
- Meaningful equity
- Upside of a startup team building something foundational
- Opportunity for leverage and compounding impact
- Broad surface area touching product, engineering, GTM, and strategy
- Path toward senior product or technical leadership roles
- Learning and collaboration with world-class talent
- Work on defining categories in agent infrastructure
