SpaceXAI is seeking a Senior Analyst for Child Safety Operations to help train and refine Grok, an AI system, to enforce terms of service and support functions. This role is crucial for enhancing the safety of our products, X, and Grok by minimizing existential risks, enforcing rules, and promoting responsible AI development to prevent illegal and harmful content. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, curious, and possess strong prioritization and communication skills, contributing directly to the company's mission in a flat organizational structure.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and act on content and behavior violating terms of service, escalating as needed.
  • Apply deep expertise in online child safety to identify, investigate, and mitigate child safety threats.
  • Investigate complex child safety cases and escalate to legal teams or external reporting agencies when necessary.
  • Monitor and act on content and user behavior violating terms of service, with a focus on protecting minors.
  • Respond effectively to time-sensitive escalations in ambiguous situations.
  • Process appeals, audit automations, and label use cases.
  • Provide labels, annotations, and input on safety protocols, risk scenarios, and policy compliance.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality curated data to reinforce rules and ethical alignment.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide feedback on improving AI defenses against illegal and unethical behavior.

Requirements

  • Expertise in improving Large Language Models (LLMs) for Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) to enhance enforcement and support.
  • Proven expertise in identifying, mitigating, and preventing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), including grooming behaviors and risks in AI-generated content.
  • Strong knowledge of legal obligations (e.g., NCMEC reporting) and industry standards for protecting minors.
  • Proven experience in online safety and harm reduction.
  • Ability to interpret and apply safety policies effectively.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex scenarios with strong ethical reasoning and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong ability to utilize resources, guidelines, and frameworks for accurate safety-focused actions.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and ethical decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement for safety and risk mitigation.
  • Expertise in data analysis to identify abuse vectors, operational efficiencies, and design automations.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in online child safety, criminal investigations, Trust & Safety operations, or a related field.
  • Experience working in Trust and Safety for a social media company, leveraging AI or automation tools.
  • Experience collaborating with child safety organizations (e.g., NCMEC) and utilizing specialized detection tools or developing classifiers for CSAM/CSE.
  • Expertise in red-teaming and adversarial testing of LLMs to identify abuse vectors and safety failure modes.
  • Ability to translate findings into concrete improvements for enforcement systems and platform robustness.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee, or eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
