SpaceXAI is seeking a Security Engineer to lead day-to-day security threat management. This role involves identifying and managing potential incidents, collaborating with partner teams on security threats, and supporting threat intelligence, threat hunting, intrusion detection, and incident response efforts. The ideal candidate will help advance best practices in these areas and contribute to the company's mission of creating AI systems that understand the universe.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day security threat management.
  • Identify and manage potential security incidents.
  • Collaborate with partner teams on security threats.
  • Support threat intelligence, threat hunting, intrusion detection, and incident response.
  • Drive continuous improvement in security processes, procedures, and automations.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for security incident response.
  • Manage security incidents and update stakeholders.
  • Identify and develop new detection use cases and optimize existing ones.
  • Collaborate on technical directions and solutions with other teams.
  • Research and analyze security event patterns across global infrastructure.
  • Identify, design, and lead threat hunting missions.
  • Manage and support log collection, security scanning, intrusion detection, and other security systems.
  • Design and assist in developing automation to reduce false positives and handle events automatically.
  • Analyze system security posture through testing and vulnerability impact analysis.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant information security experience.
  • Ability to act as a self-starter and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Python scripting skills for security automation.
  • Knowledge of networking and operating systems (macOS, Windows, or Linux).
  • Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals and practices (vendor agnostic).
  • Experience managing and/or deploying security technology.
  • Experience building queries and dashboards for security monitoring.
  • Knowledge of current threats and techniques, with a desire to research and learn.
  • Experience with malware analysis, forensics, or penetration testing.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Elastic/OpenSearch or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Open Source security automation tooling.
