Responsibilities
- Manage administrative duties including timecard compliance, scheduling, reviews, supply ordering, and mentoring direct reports.
- Support and maintain operational targets for fulfillment, distribution, and storage centers.
- Develop strategy, business metrics, and goals based on understanding business processes and needs.
- Lead a multi-level organization across 24/7 operations, assessing performance, providing feedback, resolving conflicts, and implementing corrective actions.
- Serve as a role model by setting an example, accepting feedback, and motivating the team.
- Monitor and improve operations to ensure a safe work environment with the goal of zero OSHA recordables.
- Ensure business practices meet quality standards, including AS9100 and customer flow-down requirements.
- Manage the receipt, acceptance, storage, and issuance of parts and hardware into inventory.
- Provide industry-leading customer service by adapting operations to meet business needs.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives and identify optimization opportunities.
- Maintain process control and perform routine counting for inventory accuracy and audit requirements.
- Drive projects and changes to ensure year-over-year rate maintenance in the distribution center.
- Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper stock rotation (FIFO).
- Ensure appropriate environmental controls are in place for stored materials.
- Manage and control the storage of both internal and external non-SpaceX part numbers.
- Monitor and grow the workforce, ensuring team members are challenged and performing to standards.
- Adapt business operations to meet the ever-changing needs of the organization as SpaceX innovates.
Requirements
- Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in material or production planning, purchasing, distribution, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, or master production scheduling.
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, 9+ years of relevant experience.
- Organized and self-driven, capable of working independently with little direction.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment while maintaining on-time project completion.
- Ability to handle a wide variety of challenges and work with diverse contacts.
- Capable of adapting to abrupt changes in strategy.
- Experience within an aerospace, aviation, or automotive manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with capital planning and management.
- Demonstrate innovative and futuristic thinking.
