SpaceXAI is seeking a Lead, Inventory Specialist to oversee warehouse and inventory operations supporting our rapidly expanding data centers. This role involves leading the receiving, storage, kitting, issuance, and tracking of high-value equipment and materials. You will mentor team members, manage daily priorities, drive inventory accuracy, and ensure material availability for critical operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, possesses a high sense of urgency, and is committed to continuous process improvement in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support team meetings and contribute to team improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee daily shift backlogs, incoming receipts, RMA backlogs, and outgoing material requests to meet metric targets.
  • Re-assign daily shift resources to prioritize critical data center hardware, spare parts, and infrastructure materials.
  • Provide input for employee performance evaluations.
  • Act as a focal point for production coordinators, Site Operations, and material flow priorities.
  • Contribute to improvement projects for the area.
  • Fulfill resource gaps during short-handed shifts.
  • Mentor employees to meet job expectations.
  • Provide continuous training to improve skills in inventory accuracy, material handling, and system processes.
  • Monitor and drive reordering/replenishment of department consumables, spare parts, and critical inventory levels.
  • Monitor and promptly resolve issues from the inventory/fulfillment email inbox.
  • Receive, inspect, store, and issue servers, networking gear, power/cooling components, parts, and hardware.
  • Store parts and materials accurately in designated locations, identifying part numbers and storage locations.
  • Perform picking functions to create kits of parts and hardware, ensuring all items are available and accounted for.
  • Maintain strict material handling practices, especially for high-value and sensitive equipment.
  • Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Maintain environmental and temperature requirements for temperature-sensitive materials.
  • Interface with other departments (fulfillment, sites, shipping, receiving, planning, QC, purchasing, procurement) to resolve material receipt and distribution issues.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization of warehouse and staging areas using 5S principles.
  • Support organizational metric goals for inventory accuracy, cycle count compliance, and material availability.
  • Conduct and oversee inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
  • Manage Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes, including inspection, documentation, and vendor coordination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 2+ years of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in materials management or inventory control.
  • Experience with data entry and inventory tracking systems.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other related inventory/material handling equipment.
  • Experience within data center, technology, aerospace, semiconductor, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (Word, Excel/Sheets, Outlook).
  • ERP or WMS system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Experience and understanding of inventory, kitting, and RMA processes.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrates a high sense of urgency.
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience in warehouse/inventory operations.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling, server/hardware handling, or data center material flow.
  • Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.
