About the job

SpaceXAI is seeking skilled Journeyman and/or Master Electricians to join our internal construction team, focusing on the rapid build-out of our data centers. This is a traveling role where you will mobilize with project teams to active construction sites, install and commission mission-critical electrical systems, and relocate with the work as new facilities come online. You will work on high-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution, backup power systems, grounding, lighting, and process power in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where uptime and safety are paramount. This hands-on position is ideal for experienced electricians who thrive in industrial or data-center settings, enjoy project-based travel, and want to contribute directly to groundbreaking AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test electrical systems including underground duct banks, conduits, cable pulling, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, busways, and grounding.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems across multiple active sites.
  • Support commissioning activities such as point-to-point checks, functional testing, megger testing, and system energization.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and SpaceXAI safety & quality standards, including LOTO and arc flash protocols.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and operations teams to deliver projects on time with zero incidents.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and provide field feedback to improve designs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, as-builts, and test records.
  • Mobilize quickly between project locations as construction phases and priorities shift.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems at 480V or above (medium/high voltage experience preferred).
  • Prior experience with data center or hyperscale power infrastructure (redundant UPS, generators, busway systems, etc.).
  • Prior experience working on large-scale, multi-site construction projects that required frequent travel.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments with PPE.
  • Current OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training with strong safety mindset.
  • Proficiency with test equipment (multimeters, meggers, power quality analyzers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of PLC/controls, SCADA, or variable frequency drives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours during critical builds or commissioning (including nights, weekends, and extended shifts).
