WRITER is seeking a People & Workplace Specialist for its London office to support its growing EMEA team. This hands-on role is crucial for managing both people operations and the workplace experience, ensuring employees feel supported and can perform at their best. The specialist will be the primary on-the-ground contact for the People team in London, handling employee inquiries, onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration, while also overseeing the daily office environment, event planning, and continuous improvement of the workspace. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about building great employee experiences and making a direct impact on a dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the People Ops ticket queue for the London office, addressing employee inquiries about policies, benefits, onboarding, and general support.
- Serve as the on-site liaison for People Operations functions across EMEA, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and compensation administration.
- Create a welcoming and productive daily office experience by managing inventory and ensuring adequate supplies.
- Organize and support internal and external company events and meetings, including new hire onboarding and All Hands.
- Oversee space and capacity planning for the London office, managing layout, seating, mail, shipping, and receiving.
- Maintain the London office budget and manage vendor relationships for services and repairs.
- Develop and refine office policies and processes to improve efficiency and employee experience.
Requirements
- Experience in a Human Resources or People Operations role, preferably in a high-growth tech company supporting a scaling team.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with a hospitality mindset, being friendly, approachable, and invested in employee experiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrating professionalism and proactive communication habits.
- Exceptional prioritization and time management skills, capable of handling multiple competing priorities.
- Hands-on experience managing office operations, vendor relationships, and budgets.
- A builder's mindset with enthusiasm for creating scalable processes and improving People function operations.
