About the job

Vanta is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Integrations Platform team within Vanta Government Cloud (V4G). This role focuses on building and owning the platform that powers Vanta's trust automation ecosystem for the US Government Cloud. You will translate federal compliance requirements into automated product experiences, building scalable services and UI that enable seamless integration with cloud providers, identity providers, and HRIS systems. The position involves full-stack development, operational support, and collaboration with federal subject-matter experts to ensure secure and reliable integrations. This is a builder role with significant ownership and the opportunity to accelerate Vanta's growth in a rapidly scaling company.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own full-stack features and platform primitives for internal teams, partners, and customers.
  • Deploy, operate, support, and maintain integrations in Vanta's Government Cloud, including monitoring and incident response.
  • Contribute to authentication, data-ingestion, and schema-evolution services to ensure secure and reliable integrations.
  • Partner with federal subject-matter experts to implement and maintain continuous-monitoring detectors and automated tests.
  • Build secure, well-documented, scalable services and UI using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Improve performance, operational excellence, and SDLC practices.
  • Utilize AI tools and workflows to accelerate development and operations.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of full-stack development experience building reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Experience with platform and API design, including RESTful APIs, authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys, JWT), and security best practices.
  • Experience building data integrations from external systems using best practices like rate limiting, retries, idempotency, and webhooks.
  • Strong systems thinking for designing for scale, reliability, and failure modes.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with experience partnering with internal teams, federal agencies, vendors, and 3PAOs.
  • Interest in security or compliance, motivated by building trustworthy systems in a regulated environment.
  • Openness to using AI to amplify skills and strengthen work.
  • Must reside in and perform all work exclusively from within the United States.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Benefits

  • Industry-competitive salary and equity
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 100% of employee-only benefit premiums covered for most medical plans
  • 16 weeks fully-paid Parental Leave
  • Health & wellness stipend
  • Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone stipend
