About the job

Turing is seeking a Senior DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to join their global Infrastructure Engineering team. This role focuses on building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure and developer platform that powers the company's operations. You will be responsible for making systems more reliable, secure, scalable, and efficient as the company grows. This is a hands-on position for an engineer who thrives on automating manual tasks, solving complex production issues, and elevating operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with application and security teams, working across cloud infrastructure, reliability, developer tooling, and security. The role offers meaningful ownership within a globally distributed team, requiring regular overlap with U.S. Pacific Time working hours and participation in a global on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and improve production infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Azure, including incident response, root-cause analysis, and enhancing monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Improve performance, capacity, and cloud-cost efficiency of production infrastructure.
  • Build and support engineering platforms, release pipelines, and deployment automation using tools like GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Build, and Jenkins.
  • Develop reusable Terraform modules and automate workflows using Python, Go, or Shell.
  • Manage production Kubernetes and GKE environments, focusing on deployment, scaling, networking, security, observability, and troubleshooting.
  • Design and troubleshoot cloud networking, including VPCs, firewalls, load balancers, routing, DNS, and WAFs.
  • Partner with security and engineering teams on identity and access management, secrets management, and network security.
  • Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools for log analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Collaborate on scalable architectures and production best practices, mentor engineers, and lead initiatives to improve reliability, security, and developer productivity.
  • Participate in a shared global on-call rotation and respond to production incidents.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with production GCP environments.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and delivery tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Cloud Deploy.
  • Experience with production Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, distributed systems, VPCs, firewalls, load balancers, WAFs, and cloud environment security.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, Shell, or equivalent technologies.
  • Ability to replace manual work with durable automation.
  • Experience troubleshooting production systems and making technical decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and participate in regular working-hour overlap with U.S. Pacific Time.
