Tsenta is building an AI agent to find and apply to jobs on your behalf. The company monitors thousands of career pages and ATS systems, tailors resumes, and submits applications through various channels. Backed by Y Combinator, Tsenta is seeking a founding engineer to be one of the first team members. This role involves working closely with the founders, taking ownership of significant product areas, and establishing the technical standards for the company.
Responsibilities
- Build core product features across the full stack, including the job-matching engine, resume tailoring, ATS auto-fill system, and agent interfaces (web app, Chrome extension, iMessage/WhatsApp, MCP server).
- Reverse-engineer and automate 19+ applicant tracking systems at scale, managing logins, various field types, and open-ended questions.
- Ship LLM-powered features for reading job descriptions, tailoring application materials, and answering questions in a candidate's voice, ensuring accuracy and adherence to ATS constraints.
- Own features end-to-end, from design and architecture through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Establish engineering culture and standards, and assist in recruiting new team members.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software, preferably at an early-stage startup or in a role with broad ownership.
- Strong full-stack development skills, with comfort in owning all layers from database to UI and a bias towards shipping.
- Experience with web automation, scraping, or browser tooling, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs and developing them into reliable, production-grade features.
- High degree of autonomy and ownership, with the ability to scope ambiguous problems, make decisions, and drive them to completion.
- Enthusiasm for working in person, moving fast, and shaping an early-stage company.
