As a Technical Program Manager for Security, you will lead the execution of critical programs spanning security engineering, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for developing and implementing technical security programs that align with Anthropic's Responsible Scaling Policy and enhance the company's security posture amidst rapid growth. You will operate at the intersection of Security Engineering, Compliance, Infrastructure, Product, Research, and Policy, requiring adaptability, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to translate complex security needs into actionable plans with tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end security program execution for Responsible Scaling Policy (RSP) security readiness, driving workstreams from requirements to implementation across multiple teams.
- Lead infrastructure security programs, including cluster hardening, service boundary enforcement, and security observability for sensitive assets.
- Coordinate complex multi-team deployments for security control rollouts and migrations, managing change across engineering organizations.
- Make real-time technical trade-off decisions balancing security, research velocity, and operational feasibility.
- Build program structure for emerging security domains, defining charters, roles, timelines, communication strategies, and success metrics.
- Manage security aspects of infrastructure partnerships, including contract requirements and assurance processes.
- Lead stakeholder communication and executive reporting, providing visibility into security milestones, blockers, and risks.
Requirements
- Experience driving cross-functional projects and building long-running programs with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience executing technical programs requiring systems and engineering-level knowledge.
- Deep interest in or willingness to learn about cybersecurity or regulatory compliance.
- Experience leveraging LLMs to automate workflows, improve efficiency, and develop novel solutions.
- Experience reporting on complex programs using data-driven benchmarks, including writing SQL queries.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence without authority and build cross-organizational support for security initiatives.
- Proven track record of successfully organizing, implementing, and managing complex programs and projects.
- Experience working through trade-offs and balancing competing priorities.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $290,000 - $365,000 USD
