Synthesia is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join their AI video platform team. This role is unique, blending engineering with direct customer impact. FDEs are embedded in high-value customer engagements, collaborating with Sales, Solutions, and Customer Success teams to design and build custom technical solutions that address specific customer needs. The position requires owning the entire solution lifecycle, from initial customer discussions to deployed integrations, with a strong emphasis on speed and tangible outcomes. This role is ideal for ambitious, fast-learning engineers who excel at finding creative, real-world solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and build bespoke technical solutions for strategic customers and partners to unlock high-value use cases.
- Manage the full build cycle for custom engagements, from scoping and architecture to delivery, prioritizing speed and impact.
- Act as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders, communicating effectively with both engineers and senior decision-makers.
- Translate ambiguous customer requirements into working prototypes and production-grade solutions within tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams to relay real-world customer needs and influence the product roadmap.
- Identify patterns in customer engagements to inform the development of new platform features.
- Represent Synthesia's technical capabilities credibly in customer meetings, workshops, and discovery sessions.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and shipping working software end-to-end.
- Comfort working across the technology stack or with APIs and integrations to deliver solutions rapidly.
- Some exposure to customer or commercial contexts (e.g., startup, agency, consulting, side project).
- Familiarity with how enterprise customers approach technical integrations and vendor solutions.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate work output.
- A bias for action, rapid learning, customer focus, commercial awareness, and strong communication skills.
